Estuarine and marine waters in Bangladesh support more than 50 globally threatened sharks and rays. These species are a conservation focus of WCS Bangladesh’s Citizen Science Fishermen Safety Network and efforts to combat illegal wildlife trade in shark fins and ray gill plates. This is done by working through by regular market studies on wildlife trade work and sales/ value surveys.
